He’s your not-so-typical retail worker and part-time drag queen from Brisbane. And he uses POP to max his tax back.

Tell us about your work, Raph.

“Well, my daytime gig is managing a couple of ladies fashion and streetwear stores in BrisVegas – I’m always scooting to and fro between them, carrying stock, etc. But really, my side-hustle (or should I say, secret superhero identity) is working as a drag queen. I’m also a proud Indigenous-Australian.”

Come tax-time, what used to go through your brain?

“Oh, gawd.. It used to be a total chore doing my tax. I hated it. I mean, did I even qualify for deductions? How would I even know? At one stage, I worked three different retail gigs plus my drag work, so keeping track of receipts was just a headache. I would rather have sat on a cactus.”

But not since you started using POP to file your tax return?

“Yaaas, queeeen! POP is like the TLDR version for tax…  except without skipping anything important, of course. It’s very easy to use, even for someone numerically challenged like me. And my return? Oh lordy me… amazing!”

How did POP’s intuitive Max-Deductibles system work for you as a retail worker?

“You mean drag queen?”

That, too.

“Well, for a start, I didn’t have to consult with a stuffy old accountant. Instead, POP’s system prompted me with a comprehensive checklist of my most likely deductions. I could file my tax pretty much on the day, on time, and the ATO paid me not long afterwards. I was even able to buy a new wig and… well, the rest went on my poor credit card. Sniff…”

Would you recommend POP to other retail workers… or drag queens?

“OMG, yes! It really was my best tax return ever. POP thought of things to claim I never would have. It was easy. And fast. And I got heaps back more than I thought I would. Pop is like a life-hack for your tax, bee-yatches!”
